It calculates the total hours worked after deducting break time, identifies overtime hours (any hours exceeding 8 hours in a day), and computes regular pay, overtime pay (at 1.5x the hourly rate) and total pay. This is especially useful for hourly workers, part-time employees and freelancers who need to track billable hours.

Formula
Work Hours = End Time - Start Time - Break Duration
Regular Hours = min(Work Hours, 8)
Overtime Hours = max(Work Hours - 8, 0)
Regular Pay = Regular Hours x Hourly Rate
Overtime Pay = Overtime Hours x Hourly Rate x 1.5
Total Pay = Regular Pay + Overtime Pay

What counts as overtime?
In this calculator, any hours worked beyond 8 hours in a single day are counted as overtime. Overtime is typically paid at 1.5 times the regular hourly rate, which is the standard overtime multiplier in many regions.
Can I calculate for a full week?
Yes. Click "Add Row" to add entries for each day of the week. The calculator will show a daily breakdown and compute weekly totals for hours, regular pay, overtime pay and total pay.
Is the hourly rate required?
No. The hourly rate is optional. If you only need to track hours worked and overtime, you can leave the hourly rate field empty. Pay calculations will only appear when a rate is provided.
